CVLTORES • SVI • DEVS • PROTEG : (m.m.), crowned square-topped and lightly garnished shield, wire line inner circles both sides, 2.05g [31.6grns], 7h, m.m. cross calvary (HCN 259; Brooker 188 same dies; Schneider II, 225-226 the reverse legend reading unrepresented, and 1959, 7; North 2181; Spink 2711), some partial striking weakness, otherwise an interesting die pairing, the obverse on account of the unusual die sinker's correction, the reverse on account of careful sinking, lightly toned, very fine / good very fine, scarce, in NGC 'Horace Hird' holder, graded AU53 (Cert. #6135299-021)
