Transit Mail through U.K.: 1867 (20 May) large blue envelope to Germany "via Southampton" bearing lithograph 6d. yellow-green, 1/- grey right margin strip of three plus (6d.) orange-yellow horizontal pair" tied by "70" stars of Brisbane and with the despatch duplex at left, "brisbane/registered" dated oval; there is a good strike of the London twin circle registered datestamp (A&H 2299) partly overstruck by Aus England Per Aachen c.d.s. in blue (27.7) and boxed "Recomandirt" in red, the reverse with Württemburg and other German datestamp (27.7); there is a vertical folding crease and some light soiling. A remarkable cover and rare multiple of the registration stamp

Registration required double fee if travelled through Southampton and London; pays 1/3d. due to Queensland (3d. postage, 6d. registration and 6d. late fee), 3/3d. to U.K. (1/6d. postage to Würtemburg, 1/3d. postage and 6d. registration).
