1867 (31 Aug.) blue envelope to London, manuscript "Raccomandata" bearing Italy 1863 60c. violet (3) tied by "187" numeral of Palermo with the despatch c.d.s. at left, boxed "raccomandato", unframed transit mark and small boxed "P.D" in black, with the standard-type London registered datestamp (5.9) code "C" and a fair strike of the rare "sardinia/registered" around crown in red (A&H 1499); the reverse with London W.C. c.d.s. and three wax seals. A few imperfections, mostly confined to the right side of the envelope. An important cover as very few of these Sardinia marks are known
