1859 (14 Feb.) envelope registered to Kiev bearing 1855-57 1/- green vertical pair (with part sheet margin) tied by Irish "186" numeral with large, open-circle "dublin/w.o./registered" datestamp in red which is partly overstruck by London narrow crowned "registered" in red, (W&J 1133), oval London Registered code "*" in black and boxed "Recomandirt" with a similar strike above, also "P" in oval, "england per aachen" and boxed "aus russland", the reverse with boxed Myslowitz arrival datestamp. There is a manuscript note in the lower left corner indicating that this letter was received without contents. This was before compensation was offered for lost items. A very scarce registered cover to Ukraine

The postage was made up of postage 11½d., British registration 6d., Prussian registration 3d. and Russian Registration 3½d.
