1858 (16 Apr.) large envelope to Moscow bearing 1855-57 1/- green wing margin block of six and pair with Stars 1d. rose-red and 2d. blue cancelled by "107" numerals with Bradford - Yorks despatch duplex, marked "Registered" in red ink with London large crown/"registered" and "P." in red and the second type "registered/g.p.o." code "*" in black, "england per aachen" transit and boxed "Recomandirt" in red. A hugely impressive and rare cover to Russia which displays several important features, Believed to be the earliest registered letter to Russia

The 8/3d. franking pays six times the basic postage rate of 11½d. (5/9d.). British registration 6d., Prussian registration 3d. and Russian registration of six times 3½d. (1/9d.). There are few registered covers sent to Russia
