1848 (4 Oct.) blue linen-backed envelope to Bakewell bearing 1841 2d. blue, plate 3, BG-BI strip of three (good to large margins, just touching lower left corner) tied by London "21" numerals and bearing a very fine strike of boxed "Registered" struck in bright blue with manuscript "6" and number "269" both in red ink and with Lombard Street Paid Maltese Cross despatch datestamp, a fine strike of Bakewell arrival (5.10) on the reverse. The wax seal has been excised and there are a couple of filing spike holes. A very good and interesting envelope
