1841 (25 Oct.) cover front and large part of one flap to Kendal bearing 2d. pale blue, plate 2, DA (close to large margins all round) cancelled by a central strike of black Maltese Cross, Norwich type 1, the cover marked "Registered Letter" and manuscript "1/-" and showing the Norwich despatch c.d.s. on the flap. A dramatic cover, especially with this distinctive Maltese Cross and the earliest registered cover bearing the 2d. blue plate 2
