1867 First Printing, Wove Paper, Imperforate
1867 (3 April), entire letter from Sayula to Guadalajara, bearing two ½r. and 1r. white paper, all cut to shape, tied by "Franco/Sayula" oval handstamps. The rate paid was for an up to ½ ounce weight and a distance beyond 16 leagues. The Postmasters Provisional Stamps of Guadalajara were issued in January-February 1867, except for the ½r. which was printed in April. Of the seven covers recorded bearing the ½r. this is the earliest. Elmhurst Certificate, Scott 1, 4, S.G. 1A, 2A
