The Kowloon Incident
1839 (17 July) outer cover (the letter torn off) to Frederick Huth & Co, London, unusually sent via America and marked "Care of messrs Grinnell & Minturn New York" (crossed through) with "8" rate mark, New York c.d.s. (5.3) and marked "pr Patrick Henry"; the flap with " Forward pr first steamer to England ..." with unframed "liverpool/ship letter" and London arrival c.d.s. (7.4). There are two vertical filing folds; an unusual cover taking almost 9 months to be delivered

The 'Patrick Henry' was a vessel of the Grinnell's Blue Swallowtail Line"


1839年7月17日澳門寄英國倫敦Frederick Huth &Co. 信函. 不尋常地經美國及註上" Care of messrs Grinnell & Minturn New York" (但劃上線條), 遞送費寫上"8"字, 蓋3月5日紐約日戳及"pr Patrick Henry" 標記. 封舌上寫有"發往第一艘到英國的輪船..." 及無框 "Liverpool/Ship letter" 和4月7日倫敦到達日戳. 信函有兩度垂直摺痕, 奇怪地這信函竟花月近九個月時間才送到目的地.
