1802 (16 Oct.) entire letter, headed "Bayly's Vale, St. Mary" "packet" to London, rated "1/10" and with largely fine "highgate/ja", "jamaica/21 oct 1802" J6 and London datestamps (2.12) on reverse; the contents including "This last year has been fatal to a number of people both in the Parishes of St. George and St. Mary, the yellow fever having carried off a great number, but now it is now almost subsided". Proud PS3 and the sole date recorded by him. Photo
