Stamps of South Africa Used in South West Africa
These were available up to 31 January 1923 when they ceased to be valid. On 17 December 1920 the League of Nations conferred a Mandate of Administration of the territory on His Britannic Majesty, to be carried out by the government in South Africa. The Mandate came into force on 1 January 1923, on which date the first South African stamps overprinted for use in the territory were issued

(two shades), 1/-, 2/6d., 5/- and 10/- blocks of four, all with complete datestamps including Gibeon, Kalkfeld (2), Kalkfontein on 2/6d., Omaruru and Windhoek on 5/- and 10/-; fine to very fine. S.G.
