1d. Stars rose-red perf. 14 horizontal pair (the right-hand stamp with portion of adjoining stamp at foot), both cancelled "A15" and clearly tied on 1858 (15 Dec.) portion of "St. George's Chronicle" newspaper to London. A fine and very rare franking with exceptionally few such newspapers pieces surviving and one of only three recorded printed matter usages using 1d. stamps of Great Britain.
