1963 (11 July) envelope to New Zealand, carried by auxiliary ketch Siren which struck a reef at Avatiu Harbour, Raratonga; stamp floated off, showing blank registration label with "mangaia/cook islands" c.d.s. and accompanied by a duplicate slip from the Chief Postmaster apologising for "any damage and inconvenience caused by the mishap".
