Heligoland
1867 - 1950s, a large collection and reference (reprints and forgeries) collection housed in four albums and one stockbook, some on display pages, contained in a carton. Highlights include red lighthouse album containing genuine issued stamps with ½sch., 1sch., 2sch. and 6sch. mint with reprint of ½sch., 2sch. with variety small 2 in top left value tablet, 2sch. used (2) and 6sch. used with 'winter-cancellation', 1869-73 ¼sch. with error green and rose mint, ½sch. mint (5) in different printings, 1sch mint (faults), 1875-90 various mint with 2pf. used (Cert.), 3pf., both printings mint, 10pf. mint (9) and used (13), 20pf. bright red, light yellow, light green (Mi 18h) in a complete sheet of ten with Befund, rose, green and yellow used (2), official reprint and further colours mint and used, 1m. first printing mint (3), used (2), 5m. first printing mint (3); further section of postmarks including straight-line 'heligoland' cancel and double-arc c.ds. with backdated Type III cancel on 1868 ½sch., date given as three months before date of issue, forged cancels include Types I, II, III, straight light 'heligoland' on reprint and segment cancel. Reprints (Berlin, Leipzig and Hamburg) include 1867-68 1sch. marginal block of fifteen (5x3) with Die III head (small tear), 1891-95 Hamburg 3pf. complete sheet of ten, 2sch. reprint of first issue with correct Die I but perf. 14 in marginal bock of twenty, also forgeries of 1867-68 ½sch., 1shc., 2sch. and 6sch., 1869-73 ¼sch. (2) and ¾sch. all with forged cancellations. Further lighthouse album containing picture postcards from Heligoland, 1878 pre-paid newspaper labels and wrappers unused and used including 1880 5pf. used to France, with 1880 reprint of 3pf. Another lighthouse album containing mostly postal stationery including UPU Foreign post Cards, one 1889 to Budapest, 1888 envelope to Schleswig-Holstein bearing 1887 20pf., three incoming mail items (of which only sixteen recorded) including 1887 G.B. 3d. postal stationery envelope uprated with 1d. lilac addressed to Gätkes, senior Postmaster on Heligoland and Austro-Hingarian postal stationery correspondence card uprated with 3kr. addressed to the Honourable/Esteemed Directors of the Royal North Sea Baths in Heligoland, Heligoland 5pf. post card 'blind print' showing no embossing or impression of stamp, unused, Hamburg reprints of postal stationery values 5pf. (4) and 10pf. (10), all cut out and 1890 (10 Aug.) UPU card bearing 5pf. on the last day of validity for the stamps of Heligoland. Also a copy of the 1866 postal contract between Great Britain and Hamburg. An important and highly researched collection, the majority of the material is accompanied by Karl-Heinz Schulz Attest Befund and Kurzbefund.
