1866 (27 Sept.) envelope "Per Mail Steamer Roman" to Dartford, bearing CC perf. 12½ thin bar 1/- yellow-green (S.G. 17) with indistinct cork cancellation and showing oval-framed "st helena" handstamp in blue lightly over-cancelled with Paid Devonport Cape Packet datestamp (22.10), arrival datestamp (23.10) on reverse; light horizontal crease crosses the adhesive though a scarce and attractive franking sent during the Second Union Co. contract.
