Great Britain
Queen Elizabeth II Issues
1978 Christmas, unissued 5p. essay of choirboys, on gummed and perforated paper and affixed into a Harrison & Sons presentation folder. In addition to the issued set of four there are two addition trials of the 9p. value with dark grey and sage-green border.

The reverse of the folder bears the reference numbers for each stamp, notably "5p 1011; 13p. 4105; 11p. 3218; 9p. 3286, 4270 and 4398; 7p. 29782. The top two 9p. stamps at the top of the folder have been affixed with hinges, one has the reference number written in the margin, the other in pencil on the reverse. The four stamps which have been ticked are in the issued colours, however, these do vary slightly from the issued stamps which is particularly noticable on the printing of the queen's head. Note that the 7p. stamp has become detached and this has been left off the card as it demonstrates how badly the hinges were applied to the five stamps on the lower portion, accounting for some of the paper buckling seen on the 5p. stamp.

A very rare and appealing group. Photo
