1852 (14 June) envelope from Oxford to Lieut. T.H. Bramston of the Rifle Brigade at Cape of Good Hope, bearing embossed 1/- green with good to large margins, placed sideways and clearly cancelled "603", despatch and London datestamps on reverse, carried by the Harbinger from Plymouth and arriving at Cape Town on 21 August, then forwarded to addressee on the Eastern Frontier where the regiment was engaged; envelope with faults though an unusual embossed 1/- usage
