PF64 BN | George III (1760-1820), Pattern Dollar, 1798, in copper, by C H Küchler, first leaf to upright of E in DEI, laureate and draped bust right, • • K on truncation, rev. crowned 'Spade' shield, edge plain, 23.93g, 12h (Pywell-Phillips -; cf. L&S 37; cf. Davis 5; Bull A³/1, type G/1; ESC 1913 [175A] [R6]), a delightful specimen with wonderful mahogany patination across brilliant surfaces, practically as struck, perhaps even the finest known of this extremely rare variety from a most handsome series, in NGC holder, graded PF64 BN (Cert. #5878624-001)
