(x) China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (J. C. Davis, 2nd Yeo. Sigls., H.M.S. Centurion.), traces of verdigris, edge bruise, very fine

John Charles Davis was born at Cliffe, Lewes, Sussex on 3 March 1876 but lied about his date of birth (stating 23 July 1877) when enlisting in the Royal Navy on 23 July 1895. Having served aboard Centurion for the China operations (Medal & clasp), he saw service at a number of shore establishments during the Great War and was demobilised on 5 November 1919; sold together with copied service record.
