Queen's South Africa 1899-1901, 6 clasps, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing's Nek, South Africa 1901 (20142 Dvr: J. Medd, 64th Bty., R.F.A.), unofficial rivets between state and date clasp, very fine

James Medd was born at Leeds in 1879 and worked in the paper industry upon his enlistment on 19 May 1897, having previously served in the 2nd York Volunteers. He served in South Africa from 2 November 1899-20 December 1901 (Queen's Medal & 6 clasps) with the 64th Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Having been invalided home, he served until his discharge on 18 May 1913; sold together with copied Service Record.
