Great Britain: Lyceum Theatre Ltd., a pair of certificates for £1 ordinary shares, [1899], #248, red and £1 preference shares, [1899], #503, blue. This London Theatre situated just off the Strand, was originally built in 1771. It had a chequered history but became best known under the ownership of Sir Henry Irving. In 1899 a fire destroyed all his scenery so he sold his interest in the company. Lyceum (1903) Ltd. took over after London County Council ordered some repairs that this company could not afford. The building was partly demolished and rebuilt as a music hall in 1904. It became a dance hall which the cataloguer used to frequent in his youth! Closed in 1986 and now resatored as a theatre.
