Great Britain: Aylsham Navigation, a handwritten transfer of shares dated February 1843, on a large single sheet of vellum. Signed by William Shakespeare as attorney (twice) and Logie Elphinstone as one of the witnesses. The Navigation (River Bure), incorporated in 1773 and opened the 9½ mile route in 1779 with 5 locks. The locks were destroyed in the floods of 1912. VF.
