South Africa: Banket Junction Main Reef Gold Mining Co. Ltd., £1 shares, Johannesburg 188[9], #273a, issued to Julius Weil and signed by him on the reverse, ornate border, blue, adhesive revenue stamp. Julius Weil set up his general trading and transport company on the goldfields setting up several offices in the country to become known as 'the man that moves the army'. They organised the transport for the 1893 Matabele campaign and then again provided most of the transport during the Boer War and especially during the siege of Kimberley. Small ink mark at top edge, VF and rare signature.
