Rhodesia: B Troop Gold Mining Syndicate, one share, 1890, #43, mauve. A very rare and early local syndicate with offices in Salisbury, Mashonaland. The syndicate consisted of 83 shares owning 50 claims. We can only assume that this was raised in connection with the Pioneer Corps raised by Cecil Rhodes to subdue Lobengula. It was divided into 3 troops designated 'A', 'B' and 'C'. All men were granted mining claims and land. The Pioneer Corps was officially disbanded on the 1st October and this certificate is dated 15th October. F-VF.
