(x) U.S.A.: Lawrence Rail Road Company, $50 shares, 186[71], #150, issued to and signed on the reverse by James J.D.Lanier, steam train right, black, counterfoil reglued at left, hole cancelled. Lanier became President of the Bank of Indiana in 1833, later making considerable investments in local railroads. He later moved to New York to found Winslow, Lanier & Co., a bank and share dealer. Died in 1881. VF.
