American Mining Company, Vermont, one share, Windsor 1850, #4865, small format piece with Washington standing at left, eagle and seated figure. black. The company was formed in Vermont in 1849 and launched 15 to 20 individual mines in various locations until 1854. Each issued tended to be noted on the certificates but this appears to the be the first and general attempt to raise capital. NEF.
