"G.C." paper ½c. on 1c. grey, block of fifty (two panes of twenty-five 5x5) from the top of the sheet with "GC" imprint and Millésime "9", the left hand pane with eight completely and four partly missing the surcharge due to a pre surcharging paper fold, three with surcharge on reverse, original gum with most remaining unmounted mint, some split and creased perforations, in no way detracting from this spectacular and great rarity, One of the greatest gems of post-classic France.
