1868 (10 Mar.) envelope ex the McCarthy correspondence to Portsmouth, bearing 1866 perf 11 to 12½ 1/- slate-grey (defective) cancelled "A10", showing St. Vincent c.d.s. in black and red London Paid d.s. tying the 1/- with arrival datestamp (30.3) on reverse; the envelope soiled. A very rare franking being one of two examples recorded on cover. R.P.S. Certificate (1941). S.G. 8

Note: The 1/- is perforated 12½ all round and is only recorded used in March and June 1868.
