1799 (10 Dec.) entire letter to London, rated "1/8" and showing, on reverse, "nevis/dec 11 99" datestamp (earliest recorded date; crossed by recipient's notation) and red arrival c.d.s. (19.1.); three vertical filing creases and wax seal torn away. Interesting contents regarding the capture of the "George" and recapture by an American ship, which re-offered it to Britain for half its prize money value
