Note: The letter rate was increased to 2d. per half ounce on 1 October 1868. This new letter rate would have made this expensive. This was circumvented by sending the documents as Book Post, for which the rate was 1d. per two ounces. As 2d. was paid, the total package would have been in excess of 2 ounces, which would have made the letter rate at least 10d.
