1955 (Oct.) envelope registered to Kalimpong bearing, on the reverse, 2tr. dull red pair tied by Shigatse type 2 postmark with China 1954 New Constitution $800 tied by Chinese Phari c.d.s. (29.10), part Yatung c.d.s and Kalimpong arrival (7.11) and black wax seal; the address side with manuscript registration. A rare commercial combination cover paying the 4tr. rate. Photo
The Tibetan merchants were used to sending mail to India via the Indian Post Office in Gyantse. Once the Indian post offices closed they used the same practice but using the Chinese post office in Yatung. However, they soon discovered that it was far more efficient to to send mail directly via the People's Post thus such commercial combination covers are rarely encountered
1955年 (10月) 寄噶倫堡掛號封, 封背貼2tr. 暗紅色票一對, 銷日喀則2 型郵戳, 加貼1954年800圓票 (C30), 銷10月29日帕里中文日戳, 部份亞東日戳及11月7日噶倫堡到達戳. 封有黑色火漆, 不可多得的五十年代西藏混貼封.
