Lusar: 1926 (13 Dec.) long mission envelope registered from Shanghai addressed to Dr Filchner, c/o Catholic Mission, Lusar, Sining, Kansu with Junk 13c. franking tied by Shanghai Chinese/English c.d.s. with boxed registered handstamp alongside, the reverse with Sian transit (26.12) and Lusar arrival (8.1) which is unlisted; there is a vertical fold and some other wrinkling.

Lusar is the seat of Kumbum (Ta'er) Monastery, one of the six venerable monasteries in Tibet. It is interesting to know that a Catholic Mission was there. Photo
