A144, dated 1840 (14 May), addressed to London with central red Maltese Cross cancellation overstruck by blue framed "PyP/No. 15" and (on reverse) "handsworth" in the same colour, red arrival datestamp (15.5); pressed vertical creases, very fine and an outstanding rarity. Believed to be the only recorded use of the Handsworth Penny Paid marking on a Mulready. Photo
