Francis Hugh Ranson Davey was born on 11 August 1897 and served in the ranks of the 9th and 15th Battalions, London Regiment during the Great War. Commissioned into the Army Dental Corps in April 1924, he saw further service during the Second World War and in Malaya, being awarded the O.B.E. in the 1946 New Years Honours List.
