George Reeves, a native of Market Street, Devizes, Wiltshire, was a carpenter and joiner upon being called up for Active Service on 24 June 1940. He served in Burma with the South Wales Borderers in Burma and South-East Asia, serving with the Devonshire Regiment for a month in 1946. Reeves was returned home in June 1946 and was discharged on 7 September 1946; sold together with section of Army Book, Certificate of Transfer to Army Reserve, Release Leave Certificate, Telegram sent home upon landing at Southampton and Service Edition Gospel of St John.
