Medal, on UNFICYP riband; Iraq 2003-11, 1 clasp, 19 Mar to 28 Apr 2003 (24619134 WO2 T McCafferty RGBW); Jubilee 2002; Accumulated Campaign Service 1994 (24619134 Sgt T McCafferty DERR); Oman, Sultanate, 30th National Day Medal, with crown upon riband, mounted court-style as worn with copy General Service Medal 1962-2007, 1 clasp, Northern Ireland, engraved to the recipient, good very fine and rare to unit (6)

Thomas McCafferty was born on 25 March 1965 and enlisted in the The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) on 15 June 1981 at Aldershot. McCafferty served with the unit from June 1981-26 April 1994, when they were disbanded and had seen active service in Northern Ireland and training in Hong Kong. He thence served with the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment, which only existed for 13 years. Utilising his arabic language skills, McCafferty served with the Sultan of Oman's Forces from 1999 as Machine Gun Adviser at KSQA Aydim. He left the British Army on 24 March 2005; sold with named box of issue for the Iraq Medal, besides copied Certificate of Service and photographs.
