Daniel Turton was born on 5 August 1973 and enlisted in the Royal Marines on 22 October 1990. He served with 42 Commando and qualified as a Team Medic whilst on Operation Banner in June 1998, at which point he was serving with the Joint Communications Unit. He then began his specialist training as a Diver in February 1999, his final dive being in September 2002, appearing to be discharged in June 2003; sold together with Royal Navy Diving Log, RM Company Record Book, two Kit Record Books, named boxes of issue for middle three Medals, two identity tags, defaced identity card and cloth Badge.
