(x) Three: Staff-Sergeant J. Johnson, Scots Guards, later Military Provost Staff Corps

General Service 1918-62, E.II.R., 1 clasp, Canal Zone (22215763 Gdsm J Johnson SG); General Service 1962-2007, 3 clasps, Borneo, Malay Peninsula, Northern Ireland (22215763 Sgt. J. Johnson. S.G.), private rivets between clasps; Army L.S. & G.C., Regular Army (22215763 Sgt. J. Johnson MPSC.), second mounted court-style as worn, pin removed, good very fine (3)

John Johnson was born on 10 March 1934 and enlisted in the Scots Guards at Darlington on 11 June 1951. He first saw action in the Canal Zone from 23 August 1952-15 March 1953 (Medal & clasp). After a period of service in Malta, April 1958-April 1961, he served with the Far East Land Forces in Borneo and on the Malay Peninsula from 2 September 1964-24 January 1967 (Medal & 2 clasps). Transferred to the Military Provost Staff Corps on 7 September 1968, he was discharged on 18 November 1973, earning the following glowing Testimonial:

'...He is a trained and very experienced NCO, who is capable of supervising 30-40 servicemen, instructing them in military skills and developing their characters. He has a pleasant personality, a firm manner and a strong character, is of sober habits and completely honest.'

Johnson was also awarded a third clasp to his General Service Medal and the L.S. & G.C.; sold together with copied section of his Certificate of Service.
