Six portrait photographs of Dobell at various stages of his career and in uniform, c. 1890-1920.

1. A cabinet photograph by Sheldon & Davis (Kingston, Ontario), 165 mm x 102 mm, within a rustic white-metal frame; Dobell seated, full length, in a fur-lined greatcoat with fur gauntlets and cap, as a senior cadet, RMC Kingston, c. 1890.
2. In a gilt-card mount by J. Thomson (70a Grosvenor St., New Bond St., London), 184 mm x 132mm within mount; Dobell, head and shoulders, bareheaded, in full dress tunic with crimson and gold sash, as a 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Bn. The Royal Welsh Fusiliers, c. 1890.
3. In a card mount by Lafayette (179 New Bond Street) London, 140 mm x 102 mm within mount; Dobell, head and shoulders with cap, in service dress uniform as a major general c. late 1916.
4. Unmounted by J.& H. King, Simla, 197 mm x 140 mm; Dobell, head and shoulders, bareheaded, in khaki drill uniform as a major general, c. 1917.
5. Mounted, glazed and in painted wooden frame (some damage and glass cracked) by Russell & Sons, 51 Baker Street (London), 190 mm x 140 mm within mount; Dobell seated, three-quarter length, bareheaded, in service dress uniform as a major general c. 1920.
