During the latter deployment he served in support of 174 Pro Company, 3 RMP (Forward) and was based at Camp Bastion. During the tour he also deployed forward in close support to the Infantry during high-tempo, decisive operations. The operations were conducted in a very challenging, hostile and demanding environment. His duties included general policing, support to the detention process and the collection of evidence (Tour Report refers). During that deployment he was involved in an incident 'which called into question his loyalty and regard for authority, which also placed his Platoon Command in a very difficult position'.
