A large group of mostly Victorian entire letters with railway interest, related share status documents, reports, orders, acts and more - well over 100 items. Highlights include 1848 (1st September) entire letter to 'Manager Ayrshire Railway' bearing 2d. blue with fine strike of GLASGOW Sep 2 1848 datestamp; interesting 1846 (10 Jan) entire letter regarding a fradulent attempt made by a member of the public to receive payment of £3,635 incorrectly claiming to work for Avon and Severn Valley Railway Company. Letter with part Avon and Severn Valley Railway Company red wax seal and double circle 'TOO-LATE / G.P.O. handstamp; 1844 (1 July) entire letter to Sussex on 'Brigton, Lewes, and Hastings Railway Company' headed paper and bearing company seal on reverse; 1846 Bristol and Birmingham Railway Compnay public notice of good received; 1864 (14 July) Act for the Sale to the Bristol and Exeter Railway Company ... of the Great Western Canal and for the Abandonment of a Portion of the Canal; Dundalk Newry and Greenore Railway Company tenancy agreement for a Bungalow at Greenore bearing KEVII 2/6; Great Central and Midland Joint Committee interest account statements (2); 1844 Report of the Directors of the Hull and Selby Railway; Liskeard and Cardaron Railway embossed envelope unused; interesting copy of 1832 letter sent regarding proposed Railway company to be operated by Basingstoke Canal Navigation and the Southampton Railway; Manchester Ship Canal Company Way-Bill bearing QV 1d. strip of three cancelled with signature; Nottingham Joint Station Committee wage payments (2); 1940 Waterlow & Sons receipt card; 1876 Worcester and Aberystwith Junction Railway application to construct a deviation in the line with schedule giving list of properties affected, postally used to Hereford.
