1897 (20 Sept.) soldier's envelope "H.R. Holroyd Det 5th. Coy Royal Engineers Wady Halfa Sudan" to England, bearing 1897 on Egypt 2m., 3m. and 5m. cancelled with two part "halfa" datestamps with a further superb strike at lower left, Cairo and arrival (2.1) datestamps on reverse; minor soiling at lower right though an attractive three-colour franking.
