1798 (6 May) early letter from the Count of St. Vincent, commander of the British fleet in Gibraltar to the British Consul in Tangier, the Count was aboard the Ville de Paris anchored in the old anchorage, probably from Tangier and by means of this letter he requests the Consul to send to Gibraltar in a rowboat a package that apparently accompanied this letter; the letter was hand carried and has no post marks
