1865 (Feb.) mourning envelope from New Amsterdam to Lexington, Kentucky, bearing 4c. blue and 6c. blue both placed sideways and lightly cancelled, upon arrival redirected to Chicago with part of new address additionally tying the 6c., manuscript "4" in red crayon, and showing Lexington datestamp, shield-framed "advertised" datestamp in blue, framed "not/called/for", "steam" handstamp and Boston transit datestamp, all on face, the reverse with New Amsterdam, Georgetown, St. Thomas and Chicago datestamps and manuscript "Not called for"; unusual and full of character.
