1879 (Nov.) envelope from Heilbron to Ireland, bearing 1878 4d. pale blue cancelled with oval of bars, in combination with Natal 1878 4d. brown and 1879 "One Penny" on 6d. rose (2) all cancelled "1" at Durban, the reverse with despatch, G.P.O. Natal (10.11) and Coleraine (29.12) datestamps, a few edge imperfections though a very rare and attractive combination franking. Photo

Note: In the Robert Allison handbook he states "Since 1877 Natal and the Free State had recognised each other's stamp, although mail to Europe had still needed Natal stamps for the ocean carriage if routed via Natal". In this instance perhaps the sender was unaware of the fact that Free State stamps would have sufficed
