1839 (9 Aug.) entire letter from Smyrna to Marseilles showing despatch c.d.s. and framed "paquebots/de la/mediterranee" in red, 1839 (27 Nov.) entire letter from Athens to Florence and 1840 (6 Feb.) entire letter from Alexandria to Livorno, each showing clearly readable "opened & resealed/lazzaretto of malta" double oval red wax seal (LAZ-S4); also 1840 entire from Aleppo to Genoa showing, on reverse, poor red wax seal and framed "lazzaretto san/rocco di livorno"
