Calabria, Tarentum (c. 332-325 BC), AR Stater, 7.78g, Nude ephebian rider right, crowning horse and in turn being crowned by Nike flying behind, im below horse, rev, Taras riding dolphin through waves left, holding trident and kantharos, tapa in right field, t (on side) andhp in exergue (Vlasto 503-04; HN 886; Fischer-Bossert 779-88), struck slightly off-centre on obverse, the reverse better, otherwise with much attractive iridescent tone in recesses, a pleasing very fine
