(g) Victoria (1837-1901), Pattern Five-Pounds, 1839, "Una and the Lion", young head left, two decorated fillets with six scrolls and eleven leaves, rev. dirige deus gressus meos, Victoria as Una guiding the Britannic Lion left, decus et tutamen anno regni tertio on edge, 39.37g (W&R 278 {R4}; S.3851), an impaired specimen with test cut to edge at 9 o'clock and other overt digs and cabinet hairlines in otherwise residually brilliant fields, nevertheless a bold very fine and undoubtedly still a desirable example of Wyon's enchanting image of his "Faerie Quene"
