A small collection of ten military related signed letters including (1833) General Sir Rowland Hill, third person letter, (1845) Lord (Benjamin) Bloomfield, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Horse Artillery, Commandant of the Woolwich Garrison and private secretary to George IV, (1848) Lt. Gen. Sir James Law Lushington, Director of the East India Company from 1837, (1849) General Sir James Lillyman Caldwell, active in civil engineering in India, (1849) Gen. Sir James Simpson "Memorandum for the Quarter Master Generals' Department", (1850) Field Marshall Sir Hew Dalrymple Ross, commanded the "Chestnut Troop" in the Peninsular War, (1860) General Sir Thomas Reed, Aide de Camp to the Queen at Waterloo in 1842, (1868) Gen. Sir John Fox Burgoyne, Commanding Royal Engineer in Portugal and American campaigns and served on Penny Post and Waterloo Bridge Juror commissions, F.M. Sir H. Evelyn Wood V.C., awarded his V.C. for service during the Indian Mutiny at Sindhara, 1859. An interesting group.
