Photographed in the uniform of a British Field Marshal, with baton and general officers sword, wearing the Order of the Garter breast star and sash, and the collar chain and star of the Royal Victorian Order. Alfonso X111 (1886 - 1941) reigned from 1886 until the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic in 1931, after which the royal family were in exile. In May 1906 he married Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria
